a poem by Bolanle Ogunleye
1) I dreamt about a rocket,
A dream that looked so real
My rocket looked so real
That I hid behind a rock.
2) I dreamt about a rocket,
That shot through across the sky
I presumed it carried explosives
But yet showed no pilot-light
3) I dreamt about a rocket
One whole day before Christmas
A rocket that is known to scatter destruction
So I hid behind a rock
4) I dreamt about a rocket
That landed behind my rock
It scattered no explosives
Nor caused any destruction
5) The rocket I dreamt about
Was a mere cardboard plaything
Common at christmas time
Used by children to usher in Christmas
6) I woke up from my dream
About my cardboard rocket
I laughed haha at myself
For Oh my destructive rocket was just a playful
dream.
