For each gallery competition we invite 3 people from different walks of life to judge the competition on our behalf. They make their decisions in isolation and each judge is unaware of the identies of the others until the results are in and this list published. They have complete autonomy in deciding what makes a good entry in either category ... indeed we purposely look for conflicting perspectives!
We would like to thank October's judges for their time and contribution in only our second competition.
Sincere thanks to:
Phil is a retired Engineering Manager, School Governor & PTA Chairman who lives in Lancashire. He enjoys being taught creative art by his grandsons who are under 6 and has been known to 'get creative' with cardboard and paints himself over the years!
Dave is the Subject Leader for Product Design at the University of Lincoln and is a published design author at AVA Publishing. He has also worked in the design industry for companies such as Motorola, Swatch and Christian Dior.
When invited to judge he responded:
Creativity and Imagination are everything when it comes to good ideas and the imagination of a child is fantastic. The Kideco collection provides young creatives with an opportunity to express their most exciting thoughts. I am really looking forward to being involved.
Anonymous describes herself as "a plain old mum without any airs or graces" from Nottinghamshire. We think she is anything but plain and particularly asked her input for her no-nonsense approach and self-less involvement with local youth groups.
