I dreamt a cardboard rocket ...

a poem by Hannah Lowe, Curlicue Creative

I dreamt a cardboard rocket flew me to the moon,
Spun me right round Jupiter,
"Byyyyyye mum,
I'll be back really soon."
I dreamt a cardboard rocket with a gold and silver shine,
Red hand prints round the nose cone.
That design was mine.
I dreamt a cardboard rocket had room for me and Ted.
Sometimes if she's lucky.
I let my sister in instead!
I dreamt a cardboard rocket flew me to the moon,
around the stars and Milkyway
but "sssshhhhhhh, don't tell,
we never really left the room"
