I dreamt a cardboard rocket ...

a poem by Kate Lewis, Dunster First School

I dreamt a cardboard rocket
And launched it into flight
It went whizzing through the stars
In the middle of the night

It landed on a planet
Entirely made of cheese
And populated by green men
With very hairy knees

They loved my cardboard rocket
And played with it till dawn
Until the sun was shining and
I woke up with a yawn!

I cannot wait for bedtime
When again my rocket will go
Flying to other planets
